The Good News!

It's hard to find anything good in the news these days. We live in a fallen, sin-sick world that only keeps getting worse. A world where evil is lauded as good, and good is condemned as evil. But praise God, there is good news to those who believe!

The good news that I am speaking of, is the good news, or gospel, of Jesus Christ! You see, all of us are natural born sinners. The Bible, God's Holy Word, tells us in Romans 3:23 that, "all have sinned and fallen sort of the glory of God." It also tells us that the wages, or payment for our sin, is death (Romans 6:23). Fortunately it doesn't stop there!

The second part of that verse says , "but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus." Jesus, God's one and only Son, made a way for us where there was no way. Jesus, who was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life, carried our sins to the cross with Him and died for us so that we could have eternal, abundant life. Here's more good news...He didn't stay dead! In three days he rose from the dead victorious over death, hell and the grave!

What does this mean to us? For we who believe, this good news brings us salvation. We have an eternal hope and an eternal future. Jesus tells us in the Bible, in the book of John 14:3 that He is preparing a place for us. That place is Heaven! No more pain, or death, or tears ,or sin or evil! A place of eternal peace and rest where we will forever be in the presence of our Almighty God!

God loves you and he wants to have a personal relationship with you. Hey that's even more good news isn't it? You see this isn't about religion, or trying to be good enough (spoiler alert: none of us can ever be good enough), this is about a relationship, a personal relationship with the Creator of this whole universe.

So how do you apply this good news to your life? First, you need to admit that you have sinned (remember ...ALL of us have- Romans 3:23). Next you need to believe the gospel, that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for your sins, was buried and rose from the grave! Lastly, you need to commit your life to Him.

If you are ready for this good news of salvation then I urge you to please pray. Ask God to forgive you of your sins, and invite His Son Jesus to come live in your heart. If you have done that or have more questions, please let us know! We would love to sit down with you and share more about this good news of Jesus. Click below for our contact info:
